These crispy cauliflower fritters are a vegan-friendly way to enjoy the full flavor of shawarma spices. Lightly pan-fried and paired with a tahini dipping sauce, they make a great snack, appetizer, or side dish. The spice blend transforms humble cauliflower into something special.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cauliflower florets, steamed and mashed
- 1/3 cup chickpea flour (or all-purpose)
- 1 tbsp shawarma meat spice
- 1 scallion, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for pan-frying
For the dipping sauce:
- 2 tbsp tahini
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Water to thin
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Mix the Batter
In a bowl, combine mashed cauliflower, flour, scallion, shawarma spice, salt, and pepper. Mix to form a thick batter.
- Cook the Fritters
Heat olive oil in a skillet. Drop Spoonfuls of batter and flatten gently. Fry 3–4 minutes per side until golden.
- Make the Sauce
Whisk tahini, lemon juice, salt, and water until smooth and pourable.
- Serve and Dip
Serve fritters hot with tahini dipping sauce.
