Biryani-Spiced Lentil and Rice Patties

Intro

These patties combine lentils and rice with the distinctive, savory complexity of Biryani spice. They’re excellent served in wraps, over salads, or as a meatless burger alternative.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked green lentils
  • 1 cup cooked basmati rice
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 2 tsp Biryani spice
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for frying

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix lentils, rice, breadcrumbs, parsley, Biryani spice, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Mash lightly to bind, then shape into patties.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry patties for 4–5 minutes per side.

Notes

Serving Suggestion

Serve in a pita with cucumber, tomato, and tahini.
