Intro

This syrup takes maple’s sweet depth and gives it a warm, spicy lift from Aleppo pepper. Use it on pancakes, yogurt, roasted fruit, or to glaze meats—versatile, bold, and surprisingly elegant.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon Aleppo pepper
  • 1 strip fresh orange zest

Instructions

  1. In small saucepan, combine syrup, Aleppo pepper, and orange zest.
  2. Heat gently for 5 minutes; stir occasionally.
  3. Let cool to room temperature. Remove zest. Store in fridge.

Serving Suggestions:

Drizzle over pancakes, waffles, Greek yogurt, roasted pears, or brushed onto ham or salmon before grilling.
