Shawarma-Spiced Rice Pilaf

Fluffy rice pilaf infused with shawarma spice, caramelized onions, and toasted almonds. A fragrant side that elevates any lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter or oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp chicken shawarma spice
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp toasted slivered almonds
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

Sauté Onion & Spice
Melt butter; cook onion until soft, 5 min. Stir in spice 1 min.

Cook Rice
Add rice and broth. Bring to boil, cover, reduce heat, simmer 15 min.

Finish & Fluff
Let rest 5 min. Fluff with fork, stir in almonds, season.

Serve
Serve warm with roasted meats or veggies.
