Shawarma-Spiced Cornbread Muffins
Comforting cornbread meets aromatic shawarma spice in muffin form perfect as a potluck side or paired with chili and soups.
Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1½ teaspoons shawarma meat spice
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons melted butter or oil
Instructions
- Combine Dry
Mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and shawarma spice in a bowl.
- Mix Wet
In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter/oil.
- Combine and Bake
Stir wet into dry until just combined. Divide into greased muffin tin and bake at 400°F for 18–20 minutes until golden.
- Serve
Enjoy warm with butter, honey, or alongside chili.
