Ingredients

For the beef filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp shawarma meat spice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

To assemble:

  • 4 pita pockets
  • 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup pickled cucumbers
  • 1/4 cup garlic sauce or tahini

Instructions

  • Sauté the Beef
    In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cooking until fragrant. Add ground beef and shawarma spice, breaking up meat with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 8–10 minutes.
  • Assemble the Pitas
    Warm the pita pockets. Fill each with beef mixture, lettuce, tomato slices, and pickled cucumbers.
  • Finish with Sauce
    Drizzle garlic sauce or tahini inside each pocket before serving.
