Shawarma Chicken Pasta with Yogurt Sauce
This pasta brings together comfort food and spice-laden shawarma flavor. Tossed with juicy grilled chicken and a tangy yogurt sauce, it’s creamy, bold, and unexpectedly delicious.
Ingredients
- 8 oz penne or fusilli
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 chicken thighs, cubed
- 1 tablespoon shawarma meat spice
- Salt and pepper
For the Sauce:
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon tahini
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons pasta water
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta
Boil pasta until al dente. Reserve 2 tablespoons of pasta water before draining.
- Cook the Chicken
Toss chicken with shawarma spice and season with salt and pepper. Cook in olive oil over medium heat until browned and cooked through.
- Make the Sauce
Whisk yogurt, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and reserved pasta water.
- Combine
Toss pasta with chicken and yogurt sauce.
- Serve
Garnish with parsley or sumac if desired.
