Harissa Rice-Stuffed Grape Leaves
These grape leaves are filled with a spiced rice and herb mixture kissed with Moroccan Harissa. Tender, citrusy, and savory, they make a gorgeous mezze or side.
Ingredients
- 1 jar grape leaves, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, minced
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Moroccan Harissa spice
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Make the Filling
Sauté onion in olive oil. Stir in rice, parsley, lemon juice, harissa, and salt.
- Stuff the Leaves
Place a spoonful of filling on each leaf and roll tightly.
- Cook the Rolls
Place in a pot seam-side down. Cover with water and a plate to weigh them down. Simmer for 45 minutes.
- Serve
Cool and drizzle with olive oil and lemon before serving.
