Halloumi with Eggs and Zaatar
This Halloumi with Eggs and Zaatar is a flavorful and protein-packed breakfast with Middle Eastern flair. Salty, golden-seared halloumi meets gently cooked eggs topped with a sprinkle of zaatar—a dish that’s fast, filling, and perfect with warm bread.
Ingredients
- 1 pack halloumi cheese, sliced into ½-inch pieces
- 6 eggs
- 1 tbsp Zaatar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Sear the Halloumi
Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan over high heat. Add halloumi slices and sear for 1–1.5 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Cook the Eggs
Lower heat. Crack eggs directly over the cheese. Sprinkle with zaatar and salt. Cover and cook for 4–5 minutes until whites are set.
- Serve
Slide onto a large plate, garnish with extra zaatar, and serve immediately.
