Biryani-Spiced Fish Cakes
Flaky white fish gets mixed with herbs, potato, and Biryani spice for a crisp-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside patty that pairs beautifully with yogurt or slaw.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb cooked white fish (cod or haddock), flaked
- 1 cup mashed potato
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
- 1 1/2 tsp Biryani spice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine all ingredients and mix until uniform.
- Shape into patties and chill 10 minutes.
- Pan-fry in oil over medium heat, 3–4 minutes per side, until golden.

Serving Suggestion
Serve with garlic yogurt sauce or inside pita bread.
